ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES:
include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
1) Job Duties,
accountable and responsible for
- a. Quality sampling, inspection, testing, and
dispositionforfinished product standards,in-process material,
andincoming packaging material
- b. Conduct internal and supplier quality audits
- c. Root cause analysis, corrective/preventative actions
- d. Identify quality improvement opportunities and
implement solutions in a proactive and data driven (SPC) approach
within a team based environment
- e. Knowledge of GMP for Food plants and HAACP
- f. Generation and distribution of DMMs and PNFs
- g. Communicate quality associated regulatory and specification
requirements
- h. Product / process deviation investigation and report
generation, conduct capability studies on key manufacturing
processes
- i. Food safety and food security regulatory compliance (FDA,
SQF, QAI, Bio-terrorism etc...)
- j. Facility level quality system design, development,
implementation, and continuous improvement
- k. Facility quality system and regulatory compliance employee
training
- l. Quality department general administration (scheduling,
personnel, budget management, report generation, performance
reviews, equipment/supply orders...)
- m. Function as Corporate Recall Coordinator chair. Lead and
coordinate all activities around the recall program to include
plant level and corporate; level of readiness, training on bomb
threat, media inquires and new regulator issues, monitor mock
recalls, and give yearly status report.
- n. Coordinate pre-shipment samples and chamber studies on all
gifts, identify issues and improvements
- o. Work with Purchasing on non-compliance reporting to
suppliers of rejected materials. Ensure rejected material is
reported and returned to supplier in a timely fashion.
- p. Work with the Tea Division on process audits and provide
support for training as needed
- q. Partner with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics
and R&D to assure seamless transition in product
commercialization and new equipment design
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Has dotted line reporting structure of 3 Quality Improvement
Leaders. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in
accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successful, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may

essential functions. Travel to all manufacturing plants,
vendors, Tea plantation, and co-pack/licensing is required minimal
yearly, up to 30% travel.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B. S. or M.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other
related field
- Experienced in managing & facilitating cross-functional
continuous improvement teams
- Minimum five (5) years of experience operating in a production
packaging environment.
- Minimum ten (10) years in Quality management in the food or
pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of GMPs in the food or pharmaceutical industries /
manufacturing
- Computer proficient
- Minimum three (3) years of Supervisory experience
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal
skills i.e. training, coaching, facilitating, written, conflict
resolution
